Svenska Musikförlagen

Ehrlingförlagen was founded in 1952 by orchestra leader and composer Thore Ehrling and is
one of Sweden’s most significant music publishing companies. For more than 70 years, the
publisher has played a central role in Swedish musical life, preserving a rich legacy of
popular music, revue, and traditional songs. After Thore’s passing, the business was carried
on by his sons Staffan and Björn Ehrling, later joined by Björn’s wife Ewa Ehrling.

Now, a new chapter begins as Cosmos Music acquired all publishing rights in 2025, which
means that a classic Swedish music catalog has gained a new owner, but still stays in
Swedish hands.

The Ehrlingförlagen collection includes works by prominent composers and lyricists such as
Jules Sylvain, Stig Olin, Ulf Peder Olrog, Karl Gerhard, and Thore Ehrling himself. Their
songs have been performed by many of Sweden’s most beloved artists, including Cornelis
Vreeswijk
, Alice Babs, Zarah Leander, and Sven-Bertil Taube. Through this acquisition,

Cosmos Music aims to preserve and carry forward this musical heritage, which represents
an essential part of Sweden’s cultural history.

Svenska Musikförlaget is the place where all these timeless classics come together. Contact
